Looking at Capital City Bank from the outside, I wouldn’t have expected to find a great example of social learning inside. I recently had a great conversation with Becky Barch, a performance consultant at the Bank, about her smart application of discussion forum software from ElementK. They are a solid, conservative bank.

LinkedIn Answers is limited in time and does not create any kind of sustained conversation. Social Network based discussions (for example a Ning network) act like communities.

Using the list of attendees, I randomly sample 5-10 people. So, Lee and I could have a very nice conversation. I've found that it suggests that it's not going to be a good group and I definitely won't be able to pre-network so even if it's a good group, it will be hard for me to get much value from the group.
