Fear of Virtual High Schools

Experiencing eLearning

A reader sent this question to me today: I was wondering if you read Clayton Christensen’s prediction that by 2019, nearly 50 percent of high school courses will be taught online. Â What exactly did the author mean by this? Â Did he mean that by this particular date that nearly 50 percent of high school students will be at home doing virtual schooling or that 50 pecent of the high school courses will have an “alternative online option&# to the course.

Expedia Service - Horrible - Don't Use Them

Tony Karrer

The title really says it all, but here was my experience. I booked tickets for several one-way hops through different cities in a long week of travel on several airlines through Expedia. I needed to make a change to one of the legs and there's no way to do that online, so I called Expedia customer service. For a dual fee - both Expedia and the airline charge a fee for changing the ticket they changed the leg.

Fascination and boredom

One last reference to my delayed flight home earlier this week, and then I won't mention it ever ever again, I promise. I wanted to make a comment about the in-flight movie. It was the most boring film I have ever seen. There was no dialogue, no sound track. There were no actors in the film. I don't even know who directed it. It consisted of a tiny white plane flying painfully slowly across oceans and mountain ranges.
